The Office of the Taxpayer Rights Advocate is your voice at the NYS Tax Department. OTRA provides assistance if you have a tax problem you haven’t been able to resolve with the department. If you qualify, you’ll be assigned to one advocate who will work diligently with you to resolve your tax problem.
